Pastor Orlander Thomas

Minister Orlander R Thomas serves as the Senior Pastor of the Southside Church of Christ in Durham, North Carolina. Pastor Thomas attended Southwestern Christian College one of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities in Terrell, Texas where he graduated with a B.S. in. Religious Studies. In 2010, he married the beautiful Britney Scott of Compton, California. They have been married for 12 years and have three wonderful children in Omri, Orlander, and Brightlee Rose Thomas. From 2006 till 2015, Pastor Thomas served various churches in the city of Los Angeles, California and Miami, Florida where he would continue in his development and formation as a faithful minister in the Church of Christ. During this time Pastor Thomas pursued his graduate studies receiving a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership.  In 2020, he received his Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School. He also holds certificates in African & African American studies and Black Church Studies from Duke University. Pastor Thomas also serves as Adjunct Professor of Bible & Theology at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas. Pastor Thomas strives to be a lifetime student of the word and views himself as a public theologian whose goal is to promote conversations about God in the public square that may lead to the continual building up of God’s Kingdom.
